Welcome to the internet home of the Emma Foundation, a Section 501-c-3 non profit organization, started by the Durrant family to honor the memory of their daughter Emma, who was tragically lost at the age of ten.  Please look at the pages on this site to find what we do, why we do it and who benefits from our efforts.  To share Emma's story,  click here.

Our Purpose

On June 13, 2000, our daughter, Emma left us for the next chapter of her "journey".  To honor the ten years with us and to help celebrate the gifts she gave us, we have established a Foundation and Scholarship Fund that we would like you to know about.

The Emma Foundation

The Emma Foundation is a non profit organization (section 501-c-3) dedicated to help Movement Programs at Waldorf Schools and Camphills.  We intend to provide grants that will help bear the costs of supplies, equipment, building materials, program maintenance and teacher training.  Grants are awarded each year in December.

The Emma Scholarship Fund

The Emma Scholarship is a fund held at the Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs, NY (i.e. Spring Hills Waldorf School), to assist families with their tuition.  Emma truly loved her school.  She was there for over seven of her ten years.  The funds will enable others to share in the joys that were hers.

Both the Emma Foundation and the Emma Scholarship are supported by monthly breakfast buffets, The Emma Durrant Memorial Horseshow, held at Riding Right farm, BBQs, an annual golf tournament and tax deductible donations.  To date, over $120,000 have assisted families and programs.
